Capella Parrish was born in the Bay Area
and traveled to China her teens. In her second decade of of her life,
she dallied in India and Oregon, got into debt with an excellent
university education, slaved in biomedical research for 8 years, then quit
to to tune in and drop out: she shifted gears becoming an actor, writer, and international fetish
model.
Now the third decade of her life, she
has come back full circle to the same county she was born in the Bay Area, grew out
her mohawk, and is now finally settling into motherhood, making soft sculptures,
and cruising country back roads on her vintage 1969 motorcycle.
When
she is not feverishly churning out one of a kind strange plush
monsters, she spends her time learning new languages, riding her fixed
gear bicycle, daydreaming about puppet shows, and exploring thrift
stores for unrecognized gold for inspiration. You can find her selling her art by the SF Ferry Building and on Telegraph Ave. in Berkeley with her infant son.
